Driver/General Yard Operative

MUTEC, the Municipal and Utilities Truck Equipment Company, currently wish to recruit a Driver / General Yard Operative to join the busy team based on the Longmile Road, Dublin 12.

MUTEC is an authorised Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle dealership and aftersales service centre. We are a division of Motor Distributors Limited, the exclusive importer and distributor of Mercedes-Benz in Ireland and importer and distributor of BYD electric cars, XPeng Electric Cars and Smart Car.

Our aftersales service focuses on the maintenance and repair of Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles, Mercedes-Benz buses and coaches and also operates a CVRT Centre. Our sales Department, in our state of the art showroom focuses on van and truck sales.

Main duties and responsibilities to include:

• Driver/General Operative is responsible for providing back-up support to the Service, Parts and Sales Department.
• Maintain dealership premises internally and externally including yard parking management.
• Provide support for service, parts and sales departments as requested.
• Undertake basic pre-delivery work on new and used Vehicles including washing and fuelling.
• Undertake deliveries of vehicles.
• Provide transport for customers as required.
• Other duties as may be prescribed from time to time.
• The General Operative will report to the Workshop Foreman and Service Manager

The successful candidate will ideally:

• Applicants must have a full clean driving licence, categories “B, C/C1/C1E and D” are a minimum requirement.
• ADR / Dangerous Goods Licence is an advantage.
• Excel at understanding, anticipating and meeting customer needs.
• Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possess excellent problem-solving ability.
• Work well under pressure.
• Have strong organisational and planning skills.
• Be efficient, with good attention to detail and able to work on own initiative.
• Work well as part of a team.
• Be flexible in their approach to work.
• A technical background is desirable but not essential.
