Description:

The Concrete Truck Driver safely transports ready-mix concrete and related materials to customer and construction sites while representing Platte River Concrete Co. with professionalism and care. This position supports reliable, timely deliveries, maintains assigned equipment, and provides quality service while complying with company and DOT safety requirements.

Requirements:

Essential Functions

• Safely operate ready-mix trucks and other commercial vehicles as assigned.
• Deliver concrete and related products to customer and construction sites accurately and on schedule.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, plant personnel, supervisors, customers, and jobsite contacts.
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and promptly report equipment or safety concerns.
• Safely load, transport, and discharge concrete and related materials in accordance with company procedures.
• Maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Complete delivery tickets, inspection reports, logs, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times.
• Participate in required safety meetings, training, and continuing-education programs.
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Current Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner's Certificate.
• At least six months of CDL driving experience.
• Safe driving record and ability to comply with DOT and company requirements.
• Ability to work outdoors, enter and exit trucks, climb ladders, and perform the physical tasks associated with deliveries.
• Satisfactory completion of applicable background review, Motor Vehicle Report review, DOT-required drug and alcohol testing, and other lawful job-related screenings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ready-mix concrete, mixer-truck, or construction-industry experience.

Physical Requirements

• Sit for extended periods while operating a commercial vehicle.
• Frequently enter and exit trucks, climb ladders, stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, and perform other delivery-related movements.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment associated with the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Work outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions.

Work Environment

This position primarily works in commercial vehicles, concrete plants, customer locations, and active construction sites. Local routes generally allow drivers to return home daily. Work may involve weather, dust, noise, traffic, uneven terrain, moving equipment, overtime, and rotating half-day Saturdays during peak season.

Safety Responsibilities

Employees must follow all company and DOT safety requirements, complete required vehicle inspections, wear required PPE, immediately report accidents, incidents, hazards, and equipment concerns, and participate in required safety meetings and training.
