Responsibilities

• Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
• Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to ensure on-time deliveries across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes.
• Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo safety and security during transit.
• Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods following all hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and cargo to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
• Manage freight documentation accurately, including delivery logs, load manifests, and compliance paperwork.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly.

Experience

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, with a focus on delivery driving, route driving, or freight transportation.
• Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, or tractor-trailers preferred.
• Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including logistics cargo handling.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for hazardous materials (Hazmat) preferred.
• Experience operating manual transmission vehicles is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines, and hazardous materials regulations related to trucking operations.
• Demonstrated ability to handle manual handling tasks safely while adhering to safety standards for truck loading/unloading.

Pay: $25.48 - $30.69 per hour
