Driver/Storeperson

About the role

As a Driver/Storeperson, you'll be responsible for delivering customer orders safely, accurately and on time throughout the Southland region while providing excellent customer service. When not completing deliveries, you'll assist with warehouse operations including picking orders, receipting stock and general warehouse duties across ambient, chilled and frozen environments. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm with a rostered 2-4 hour Saturday shift approximately once every 4-5 weeks over the summer months.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver customer orders safely, accurately and on time
• Provide excellent customer service to Trents customers
• Load and unload vehicles safely
• Ensure consignments are checked and signed for
• Keep vehicle clean and tidy
• Ensure RUC, COF, licences and vehicle maintenance requirements are kept up to date and defects reported
• Accuracy with picking orders
• Inwards goods checking of orders
• Assist in general warehouse duties when not driving
• Keep warehouse environments tidy
• Adhere to all role and job relevant Trents Wholesale policies and procedures

About you

• Provide proof of clean current license to drive trucks; Class 2 is required with a minimum of 12 months driving experience
• Class 4 preferred
• Hold a current F and O.S.H Forklift Endorsement preferable but not essential
• Be physically fit to meet the demands of the position
• Excellent team spirit and ability to work with a wide range of people
• Fantastic customer service skills
• Flexible nature and ability to meet deadlines
• Be both numerate and literate
• Able to provide a stable work history
• Have reliable transport as employment hours may be outside public transport hours or may not be available
