What they need

Job Advert

The Joint Loan Equipment Service (JLES) is seeking to recruit two (2) motivated and reliable Driver/Store persons to support the delivery of essential community equipment services across the Forth Valley area. JLES plays a vital role in supporting people to remain safe, independent and active within their own homes by providing, maintaining and recycling a wide range of community equipment.

This is a varied and hands-on role with responsibility for three key service functions that directly contribute to the delivery of high-quality equipment services to service users, carers and health and social care professionals.

You will be involved in the collection, cleaning, decontamination, refurbishment and recycling of community equipment to ensure it meets quality and safety standards for reissue. This work is essential in supporting a sustainable and cost-effective service while maximising the lifespan of valuable equipment assets.

The role also supports the day-to-day operation of the equipment store and warehouse, including stock control, inventory management, goods receipting, equipment tracking, order preparation and general warehouse duties.

In addition, the postholder will be responsible for delivering, installing, demonstrating and uplifting a wide range of community equipment within service users' homes. This requires a professional and customer-focused approach, ensuring equipment is fitted safely and appropriately while providing reassurance and support to service users and their families.

A full, and valid driving licence is an essential requirement for this post. Experience of driving light commercial vehicles within a multi-drop delivery environment is desirable.

Moving and Handling experience or qualifications would be advantageous. Applicants should possess good communication, organisational and basic administrative skills, together with the ability to work effectively as part of a busy team while maintaining high standards of customer service.

Experience of working with older people, individuals with disabilities, or other vulnerable groups would be desirable.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated team that makes a direct contribution to the health, wellbeing and independence of people within the local community.

You will work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

This post is temporary until October 2027 due to service requirement.

You will be required to participate in an on call or standby rota as required.

There may be a requirement to work on Public Holidays and weekends.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership, the cost of which will be met by the preferred candidate.

For an informal discussion please contact Brian Stewart on 07872820100.
