Role Purpose
We are looking for a reliable and organised HGV Driver with HIAB certification (Category C&CE), to join our team in a dual-role position. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the company warehouse, vehicle equipment, combined with driving and lifting operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation and delivery of materials and equipment, whilst ensuring that company vehicles and warehouse stock readily available to operational teams.
The role will involve driving the company lorry to and from work sites as required. Driving will generally account for only a few hours of the working day, with the majority of the role being spent either on site supporting operational activities or working within the company’s stores/warehouse.
The role requires a flexible approach to working hours, as the position does not operate solely within standard working hours. You may be required to work later finishes and occasional weekends to meet operational and project requirements.
Flexibility is therefore an important part of the role, with working hours varying depending on site requirements and the needs of the business.

· Safely operate company HGV vehicles in accordance with UK legislation, company procedures and relevant transport requirements
· Operate HIAB/lorry-mounted crane equipment safely and competently
· Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects, damage or maintenance requirements promptly
· Ensure loads are correctly secured, distributed and transported safely
· Carry out loading and unloading operations using the HIAB and other lifting equipment as required
· Maintain accurate delivery, collection and vehicle records
· Monitor vehicle servicing, inspections, MOTs and other statutory requirements and report upcoming requirements to Operations Admin
· Responsible for the day-to-day organisation and management of the company stores
· Receive, check and store deliveries and materials
· Issue materials, equipment, PPE and tools to operational teams
· Maintain and record stock levels
· Ensure equipment is securely and appropriately when not in use
· Support the Operations team with the preparation and mobilisation of equipment for projects
· Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout all activities
· Carry out any other reasonable duties associated with the role
· Ad-hoc compliance as requested by Operations
Experience and Qualifications
· Clean UK Driving Licence (Category C & CE)
· Valid HIAB / Lorry Loader qualification or certification appropriate to the equipment being operated
· Holder of a valid driver CPC and digital tachograph card
· Good knowledge of UK road and transport regulations
· Good organisational and record-keeping skills
· Good understanding of work-place health and safety
· Experience in operations in the electrical industry including the lifting of poles and plant
· Previous experience with warehouse management / organisation
