This position requires a strong foundation in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or mechatronics engineering, along with conversational Mandarin proficiency to facilitate effective communication across international engineering teams.

The ideal candidate can translate technical discussions into actionable engineering requirements, resolve design and manufacturing challenges, and support the development and localization of drone systems for the U.S. market.

Key Responsibilities

Review engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation.
Support mechanical, electrical, and systems integration of unmanned aircraft.
Assist with design improvements, prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and validation.
Translate engineering requirements into actionable instructions for U.S. manufacturing and assembly teams.
Identify opportunities to improve product reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and performance.
Support engineering change management, documentation, and quality control processes.
Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and product development personnel to resolve technical challenges.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related field.

  • Conversational proficiency in Mandarin Chinese required, including the ability to understand and participate in technical discussions. Strong professional English communication skills.
Working knowledge of U.S. engineering practices, technical documentation, and manufacturing processes.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and design documentation.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and cross-functional communication skills.
Ability to work on-site in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with unmanned aircraft systems, robotics, aerospace, or electromechanical products.

Familiarity with CAD software, electrical schematics, embedded systems, or flight-control architecture.
Experience working with international engineering or manufacturing teams.
Knowledge of design for manufacturing (DFM), engineering change orders (ECOs), and product lifecycle management.
Experience supporting product localization or U.S.-based manufacturing initiatives.
Familiarity with FAA regulations and UAS operational requirements.

Why Join DMR?

Join a growing Louisiana technology company helping build the future of American drone manufacturing. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with company leadership, influence product development, and help establish engineering and manufacturing capabilities in the United States.
