Drop Bury Technician - Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Drop Bury Fiber Optic Supervisor to oversee daily underground fiber drop operations and technician crews. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for maintaining production, quality, safety, and technician performance.

Compensation

Salary Pay + Production-Based Pay

Compensation includes a base salary plus additional production-based earnings based on crew performance and completed work.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of Drop Bury/Fiber Optic Technicians.
• Assign and distribute daily jobs to technicians and crews.
• Monitor technician production and job progress throughout the day.
• Ensure technicians properly update all job statuses in the required application.
• Inspect completed work to ensure fiber drops meet required depth, routing, and quality standards.
• Ensure proper procedures are followed for trenching, boring, microtrenching, driveway/sidewalk crossings, and fiber placement.
• Verify crews properly identify utility markings and safely work around existing utilities.
• Ensure all required before, during, and after photos are properly documented.
• Review failed, incomplete, and QA jobs and coordinate necessary repairs or corrections.
• Assist technicians with difficult jobs, customer concerns, property obstacles, damages, and field issues.
• Respond to and help resolve damages involving sprinkler systems, water lines, landscaping, or other property.
• Train and coach new technicians on company procedures, safety requirements, and quality expectations.
• Monitor technician attendance, performance, productivity, and professionalism.
• Communicate daily with management regarding production, pending jobs, failed jobs, technician issues, and field conditions.
• Ensure all crews follow company and client safety and quality requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience required.
• Previous experience supervising technicians or crews in Drop Bury, underground fiber optic, telecommunications, or construction operations.
• Bilingual – English and Spanish required.
• Strong knowledge of underground fiber installation and Drop Bury procedures.
• Experience with trenchers, boring equipment, utility locates, hand digging, and underground construction equipment.
• Strong leadership and crew-management skills.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple technicians, crews, and jobs simultaneously.
• Must be dependable and comfortable working independently in the field.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Preferred Experience

Previous experience with Google Fiber or similar FTTH/Drop Bury projects is strongly preferred.

Pay Structure: Salary + Production Pay

Pay: From $1,200.00 per week
