What they need
HOMEWORTHY Full-Time | Non-Exempt | $23–$26 per hour Homeworthy is seeking a compassionate, adventurous, and solution-oriented team player to serve as the Drop-In Center Coordinator at The Landing Place!
The Landing Place (TLP) is Homeworthy’s comprehensive youth program, providing support for highly resilient and often marginalized youth living in Midcoast Maine. We strive to inspire hope, restore purpose and belonging, and break cycles of poverty through outreach, case management, shelter solutions, and a drop-in youth center.
The Drop-In Center Coordinator will play a key role in supporting youth who come to the low-barrier drop-in center. Responsibilities include ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the Youth Center, coordinating volunteers, accepting and processing donations, planning programming, and conducting community outreach. Most importantly, the Coordinator will cultivate a positive, engaging, and welcoming environment at TLP and build trusting, enduring connections with youth, families, and community members.
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills, as well as a passion for connecting with young people. The Coordinator must communicate clearly with fellow staff and volunteers, exercise good professional judgment and boundaries, and be able to give and follow written and verbal directions. This position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, with hours that may extend into evenings.
Staff should have at least two years of experience working with youth in a professional setting. A valid driver’s license and safe driving record are required. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and have one year of safe driving experience to operate Homeworthy passenger vans. Staff must be proficient in reading and speaking English and able to push and lift 50 pounds.
All hires are subject to background and license checks prior to hire.
This position pays $23–$26 per hour, based on experience. Homeworthy offers a competitive salary and benefits, including employer-supported health insurance plans (the employer pays up to 95% and contributes to a health savings account), optional dental and vision plans, life insurance, short-term disability insurance, a retirement plan with a 3% employer match, paid time off (starting at 15 days per year), 14 paid holidays (including your birthday!), and additional time off in the summer.
To apply: Submit a resume and a cover letter explaining why you would be a great fit for the team to [email protected]. Include the job title in the subject line. No phone calls, please!
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
Homeworthy is an equal opportunity employer committed to team development and a supportive, respectful culture.
