Drop Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drop Technician to join our dynamic telecommunications team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber optic cabling systems in outdoor environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy equipment and technical tools, while providing critical support to our clients’ communication systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, and test fiber optic cables and telecommunications network cables in outdoor settings, adhering to industry standards and safety protocols.
• Operate heavy equipment such as a ditch witch and use ladders safely to access elevated or hard-to-reach areas.
• Use diagnostic tools and testing equipment to troubleshoot network issues, identify faults, and perform repairs efficiently.
• Adhere to a weekly quota of jobs completed
• On-call during the week and every 3 weeks on weekends.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in field service roles involving heavy equipment operation and outdoor work environments.
• Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and other construction tools.
• Construction experience with outdoor cable installation projects involving telecommunications outside plant operations.
• Comfortable working at heights on top of ladders with proper safety equipment that will be provided.
• Must have truck and be able to put a ladder rack on the truck which will also be provided.
• Must be comfortable and able to pull a trailer with truck.

Pay: $500.00 - $1,500.00 per week
