Drum Teacher

Azars’ Music School is looking for a professional, friendly, patient, and dedicated Drum Teacher to join our team in North Vancouver.

We are seeking an experienced teacher who is comfortable teaching private and/or group lessons to students at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Certificate in Music or a related field (Bachelor's degree is preferred)
• Strong proficiency in drums
• Familiarity with Rockschool and/or Trinity College London is an asset
• Previous experience teaching children
• Ability to create engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans
• Patient, friendly, encouraging, and professional teaching style
• Strong communication skills with students, parents, and administration
• Reliable, punctual, organized, and responsible
• Preferably available on Tuesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• Preferably living in North Vancouver or a nearby area

Responsibilities:

• Teach private and/or group drum lessons
• Teach students from beginner to advanced levels
• Develop lessons based on each student’s age, ability, interests, and goals
• Teach technique, rhythm, music reading, theory, improvisation, and performance skills
• Prepare students for recitals, festivals, auditions, and performances when needed
• Provide clear weekly assignments and practice expectations
• Track students’ progress and communicate professionally with parents and the school
• Create a positive, structured, and encouraging learning environment
• Help students develop confidence, musicianship, and a love of music
