We have a rare opportunity to join our team as the Dry Goods Operations 2IC in a full-time permanent capacity. You and the Job…

As the Dry Goods Operations 2IC, you will be working alongside the Dry Goods Operations Manager to achieve the department's goals, continuing to maintain high standards and productivity so that our customers receive an awesome shopping experience. You will assist the Dry Goods Operations Manager with the following:

• Provide exceptional leadership of our Dry Goods department (Grocery, Coldshelf, Frozen and Liquor), always being above the line and willing to get stuck in.
• Always thinking customer and ensuring that the level of service provided by yourself and your team is second to none.
• In it together – whether undertaking administrative tasks, supporting or guiding the team through day-to-day operations, you exude the spirit of collaboration.
• Adept at coaching conversations that help drive performance and team spirit.
• Ability to multi-task, work with people from all walks of life, trouble-shoot and remain unflappable under pressure.
• Be a people person, that brings both energy and calm to situations.
• An understanding of foundational HR practices related to team management – including the maintenance of confidential information, performance and attendance management, training and development.
• Experience in rostering and it’s impacts on wage budgets.
• A result-oriented person – you are pragmatic, detail oriented and always striving to achieve excellence.
• You understand the value of team and can recognise that you are successful when the team are successful.
• Physically fit – the role requires you to be constantly on your feet, maintaining the workflow of the department and assisting both team and customers including jumping in to serve as and when required.
• Understanding of regulatory practices – health and safety and food safety are critical within our store environment.
• Welcome growth, challenge and change – we love progressive thinking and have a vision to continue growing the department, challenging the status quo by giving opportunities that support the team’s development and our customers shopping experience.
• At least two years supervisory experience in a supermarket environment preferred.

Days and Hours:

We will adjust these for the right person however it is critical that you are both flexible and reliable with your roster. You will be required to work one weekend day and do both opening and closing shifts throughout your week as to lead the team we must be seen by the team.
