Dryer Plant Operator - Senior / Operator / Junior Operator

Company Overview

Agro Snow Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is establishing a state-of-the-art pea protein isolate, pea starch and pea fibre manufacturing facility at Tanjung Langsat, Johor, Malaysia.

The Dryer Plant converts concentrated protein slurry into high-quality powder through evaporation, spray drying, fluid bed drying, cooling, powder conveying, screening and packaging, while maintaining strict food safety and quality standards.

Position Details

Department: Production
Location: Tanjung Langsat, Johor
Reports To: Production Supervisor

Position Levels

1. Senior Plant Operator – 7–10 Years Experience
Lead shift operations, supervise dryer plant performance, optimise production, troubleshoot process issues, coordinate with maintenance and guide junior operators.

2. Plant Operator – 3–7 Years Experience
Independently operate spray dryers, evaporators, fluid beds, cyclones, bag filters and powder handling systems while achieving production and quality targets.

3. Junior Operator / Trainee – 0–2 Years Experience
Assist with equipment operation, cleaning, inspections, sampling and packaging while learning PLC/HMI operation and basic troubleshooting.

Job Summary

Operate and monitor the complete Dryer Plant safely and efficiently to achieve required production, quality, food safety and EHS standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plant equipment through PLC/HMI systems.
• Perform start-up and shutdown of spray dryers, evaporators, fluid beds, cyclones, bag filters, air heaters and powder conveying systems.
• Monitor process parameters including temperature, pressure, airflow, feed solids, moisture and atomizer/nozzle performance.
• Monitor product quality and ensure consistent powder specifications.
• Operate powder conveying, screening, sifting, transfer and packaging systems.
• Carry out routine inspections and first-line troubleshooting.
• Coordinate equipment issues and breakdowns with the Maintenance team.
• Complete production records, checklists and shift reports accurately.
• Support commissioning, FAT/SAT, trials and continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain good housekeeping and comply with GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000, Halal and EHS requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Certificate / Diploma in Chemical, Mechanical, Food Technology, Process Engineering or related discipline.
• Relevant experience in spray drying, dairy, protein, starch, food ingredients or powder processing is preferred.
• Fresh graduates or candidates with limited experience may be considered for Junior Operator / Trainee positions.
