Drywall Finisher

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drywall Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying finishing touches to drywall surfaces, ensuring a smooth, professional appearance that meets high-quality standards. Your expertise will help transform raw construction projects into polished spaces, contributing to the overall success of our building projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse residential and commercial sites, utilizing your skills in drywall texturing, taping, mudding, and repair to deliver exceptional results.

Responsibilities

• Finish drywall surfaces by applying joint compound (mud), tape seams, and sand to achieve a flawless finish suitable for painting or further decoration
• Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute drywall installation and finishing tasks
• Prepare surfaces by measuring, cutting, and fitting drywall panels using hand tools and power tools such as saws, drills, and sanders
• Perform drywall repairs and patchwork on damaged or uneven surfaces to restore structural integrity and aesthetic appeal
• Apply textures such as knockdown or spray finishes to drywall surfaces according to project specifications
• Collaborate with carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and other trades to ensure seamless integration of drywall with fixtures, trim carpentry, and other building components
• Follow all construction workplace safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe environment for yourself and your team while handling materials like metal studs, plastering compounds, caulking agents, and stucco

Experience

• Proven construction experience with a focus on drywall installation, finishing, or related trades such as carpentry or plastering
• Familiarity with reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings relevant to drywall projects
• Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools used in drywall work including taping knives, sanding tools, drills, saws, and spray equipment
• Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices in a construction site environment
• Experience in water damage restoration or mold remediation is a plus but not required
• Ability to interpret technical instructions and adapt techniques accordingly for various textures or repair needs
• Previous work in restoration industry or remodeling projects is advantageous
