About the Role:

Graceful Legacy Hospice in Fredericksburg, VA is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our caring team. Responsibilities:

• Provide direct personal care and support to individuals, including assistance with daily living activities (ADLs)
• Assist clients with mobility, hygiene, grooming, feeding, and other personal care needs
• Offer emotional support and companionship to clients and their families
• Monitor and document changes in client health, behavior, and overall well-being
• Communicate effectively with hospice care team members, including nurses and social workers
• Follow individualized care plans and hospice protocols to ensure comfort and dignity
• Assist with light housekeeping and maintaining a safe, clean environment for clients

Requirements:

• Prior experience as a DSP, CNA, home health aide, or in a related caregiving role preferred
• Genuine compassion and empathy for individuals receiving end-of-life care
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow care plans and document observations accurately
• Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible scheduling, including evenings or weekends
• High school diploma or GED required; relevant certifications a plus
• Ability to pass a background check and meet all applicable state requirements
