Direct Support Professional (DSP) 1:1 Community & Home-Based Support

Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide 1:1 support to individuals in their homes and throughout the community in the Scranton, PA area. This rewarding position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping clients achieve greater independence, engage in their communities, and improve their overall quality of life.

Position Details

• One-on-one support in client homes and community settings
• Assist with daily living activities and personal goals
• Accompany clients to community outings, appointments, recreational activities, and social events
• Encourage independence, confidence, and community integration
• Build positive, supportive relationships with clients and families
• Follow individualized care plans and document services provided

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and daily routines
• Support community participation and social engagement
• Promote client safety and well-being at all times
• Maintain accurate documentation and communication with the care team
• Assist with transportation and community-based activities as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or similar populations is preferred but not required
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
• Ability to pass background screening and any required clearances
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused approach
