What they need

CDL Dump Truck Driver – Local Pasadena / Baytown

Rebel Trucking LLC

Rebel Trucking LLC is looking for two dependable CDL dump truck drivers for local hauling work primarily throughout Pasadena, Baytown, Deer Park, and the surrounding Houston industrial area.

We are looking for drivers who understand that this job involves more than simply driving from Point A to Point B. Our drivers are responsible for operating their assigned truck safely, completing loads efficiently, performing proper inspections, and helping us catch mechanical issues before they become major problems.

Experienced dump truck drivers are preferred, but we are willing to train the right CDL driver who has a strong work ethic, takes care of equipment, and is willing to learn.

Compensation

Drivers are paid based on production

Earnings will vary depending on the number of loads completed, job availability, haul distance, and type of work. Drivers who are dependable, efficient, and able to safely complete more loads have the opportunity to earn more.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a manual-transmission dump truck equipped with air brakes
  • Haul materials such as sand, rock, crushed concrete, select fill, dirt, clay, and other construction materials
  • Pick up and deliver loads to material yards, construction sites, industrial facilities, plants, and customer locations
  • Perform a proper pre-trip and post-trip inspection every day
  • Inspect tires, wheels, brakes, air system, lights, fluids, suspension, hydraulic system, dump body, tailgate, tarp system, and other important truck components
  • Pay attention to unusual noises, leaks, air-pressure problems, tire issues, warning lights, or other signs that the truck may need maintenance
  • Immediately report mechanical or safety problems before they become larger repairs
  • Keep the cab and truck reasonably clean and take care of assigned equipment
  • Safely operate the dump body and make sure the truck is positioned on stable and level ground before dumping
  • Be aware of overhead power lines, structures, uneven ground, and other hazards when raising the dump bed
  • Follow jobsite, plant, terminal, DOT, and company safety requirements
  • Maintain required tickets, load information, delivery paperwork, and other documentation
  • Communicate with dispatch regarding loads, delays, truck problems, and jobsite conditions
  • Arrive on time and be dependable when scheduled

Qualifications

Required

Valid CDL appropriate for the truck being operatedAble to legally operate a manual-transmission commercial vehicleAble to operate a commercial vehicle with air brakes without an air-brake restrictionCurrent DOT medical certification as requiredAcceptable driving recordAbility to pass required DOT drug/alcohol testing and other driver qualification requirementsAbility to safely enter and operate around construction and industrial facilitiesReliable transportation to and from workGood communication and willingness to take responsibility for assigned equipment

TWIC / Site Access

A valid TWIC card is strongly preferred because many of the facilities we service require TWIC access.

Applicants without a TWIC may still be considered if they are able to obtain the required facility visitor or escorted access where permitted and are willing to obtain a TWIC if needed.

Experience

Previous dump truck experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate.

Commercial driving experience, construction hauling experience, knowledge of truck inspections, mechanical awareness, and familiarity with Pasadena/Baytown-area plants and material yards are all a plus.

We are willing to train a motivated CDL driver who drives safely, listens, learns quickly, and takes care of equipment.

What We’re Looking For

We want drivers who treat the truck like it matters.

You do not need to be a mechanic, but you should be able to recognize when something does not look, sound, or feel right. We would rather have a driver report a small problem early than continue driving until it becomes an expensive breakdown.

We value safety, reliability, communication, equipment care, and productivity.

Schedule / Work Area

Local hauling primarily in the Pasadena, Baytown, Deer Park, and Greater Houston area.

Drivers are generally home daily. Start times and daily workload may vary depending on available jobs, customer schedules, plant hours, and the number of loads assigned.
