Dumpling Maker (Casual)

Tigris makes premium handmade dumplings — 100% from scratch, the same clean-label, quality-first philosophy behind Ket Baker. We're looking for a skilled maker to produce our dumplings one day a week: hand-making, filling, shaping, portioning, packing and freezing to recipe, ready for our shops, wholesale customers and market stall. There is a lot of growth opportunity so perfect to come and dip your toes in the water.

This is hands-on food production, not restaurant service. If you take pride in consistency, speed and a clean bench, and you enjoy getting into a rhythm and making beautiful product, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll do

• Make dumplings by hand to our set recipes — filling, wrapping and shaping to a consistent standard
• Prepare and portion fillings; weigh and measure ingredients accurately
• Package, label, date and freeze finished boxes ready for sale and dispatch
• Keep output consistent in size, weight and appearance, batch to batch
• Follow all food-safety and hygiene requirements and keep a clean, sanitised work area
• Clean down equipment and the bench at the end of the shift, and flag low stock

What we're looking for

• Kitchen, food-production or dumpling-making experience — a cook, chef or production background is ideal
• Good hand skills, speed, and an eye for consistency and detail
• A current food-handling / food-safety certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
• Reliable, self-directed, able to run the day's production with minimal supervision
• Comfortable on your feet for the shift and working to a target output

Room to grow
This role can grow into weekend market work for the right person — prepping and selling our dumplings at local markets. If that interests you, tell us in your application. It's a bonus, not a requirement. This role can also grow into the other business: bakery production.

The details

• Casual, one day per week (approx. 8 hours), day to be confirmed
• Based in Wallington, Geelong region
• Paid under the Food, Beverage & Tobacco Manufacturing Award (MA000073), casual rate + 12% super
• Reports to the owner / production lead

Pay: $32.00 – $34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 per week
