Durable Medical Equipment Biller /Authorizations

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Biller / Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This vital role combines front desk responsibilities with medical billing and coding duties, ensuring smooth patient telephone interactions and accurate financial processes. As a key member of our practice, you will manage checking emails daily, submitting Prior Authorizations, Ordering DME supplies and billing some medical records. Your energetic approach will help foster a welcoming environment while ensuring all billing procedures are efficiently executed to support the financial health of the practice.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephone calls, verify insurance information/eligibility same and similar and deductibles.
• Review Daily emails with RX’s and Clinical Notes to be able to update medical records in the cloud
• Must be able to read ICD 10 codes and HCPCS codes
• Must be able to ship patient CGM supplies from our warehouse physically or through their website.
• Must be efficient in google sheets, emails, telephone calls, and communicating to drs office for any missing clinical documentation.
• Review medical documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring proper application of ICD coding and medical terminology
• Assist in managing patient accounts, process payments, and generate billing reports to support financial transparency
• Must be able to submit prior authorizations to health insurances for the service provided
• Must be able to check eligibility and same and similar along with hospital SNF and home health care checks.

Requirements

• Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or a related medical office role with familiarity in ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, and DRG classifications
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medical records management
• Experience working in a medical office preferably Durable Medical Supplies
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate data entry and claim submissions
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance providers, and team members in a lively, professional manner
• Knowledge of medical collection procedures and strategies for resolving billing issues efficiently
• Familiarity with medical coding standards including ICD coding systems for diagnosis classification
• Must be able to order supplies to match the patients prescription
• Must be able to contact patients to verify address is correct prior to shipping supplies.
• Must have some kind of experience as a receptionist/biller
• Must be able to work well with others
• Must be able to read a EOB

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
