Duty Manager – Part Time Permanent 34 hours per week

Kiwi Self Storage is currently seeking a motivated and customer focused individual to join our team at one of New Zealand’s leading self storage operators.

This role is suited to someone who enjoys working with people in a retail environment and takes pride in converting enquiries into rentals through strong communication, a proactive attitude and genuine customer service. About the role

This is a permanent part time position based at our North Shore facility at 12 Holder Place, Rosedale, next to Bunnings Warehouse, with a total of 34 rostered hours per week. The standard working hours are Tuesday 8.00am to 3.00pm, Wednesday 8.00am to 5.00pm, Thursday and Friday 8.00am to 3.00pm, and Saturday 9.00am to 1.00pm.

From time to time, there may also be additional shifts available to help cover annual or sick leave, with all team members supporting each other when needed.

This is a busy and active role and is not solely office based. Throughout the day you will regularly be on your feet assisting customers around the facility, helping direct vehicles coming and going, receiving and putting away courier deliveries for our commercial customers, conducting facility tours and helping to keep the site clean, organised and running smoothly.

This role would suit someone who is self motivated, personable and confident dealing with customers both in person and over the phone, and who enjoys a role with plenty of variety throughout the day.

Key responsibilities

As Duty Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Responding to sales enquiries and converting them into storage rentals
• Providing exceptional customer service both in person and over the phone
• Conducting facility tours and helping customers choose the right storage solution
• Following up enquiries and reservations in a timely and professional manner
• Processing customer payments and completing rental documentation
• Using computer systems and CRM style software accurately
• Assisting customers and vehicles coming and going from the facility
• Receiving and putting away courier deliveries for commercial customers
• Assisting with the day to day operation of the facility
• Maintaining a clean, organised and professional presentation of the office and facility

About you

The successful applicant will be friendly, reliable and professional, with a naturally positive approach and strong people skills.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in retail sales, customer service or a similar customer facing role
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence handling phone and walk in enquiries
• A positive and professional attitude
• The ability to work independently and stay productive during quieter periods
• Good computer skills including email and data entry
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• A reliable and honest work ethic
• A clean Police record
• The ability and willingness to be active and on your feet throughout the working day
