About the Role ​

Crew Grove Pub Co is thrilled to be the new owners of The Chelston Manor! To support our next chapter, we are looking for an experienced, hands-on Duty Manager to help steer the ship and complement our already strong, thriving team. ​You will work closely with the Senior Management team to maintain exceptional standards, drive service, and ensure our wonderful locals and visitors always receive a warm, memorable Devon welcome. ​

Key Responsibilities ​

Shift Leadership: Run smooth, high-energy front-of-house shifts across the bar, dining areas, and beer garden. ​

Service Standards: Uphold impeccable standards of customer service, cleanliness, and food and beverage presentation. ​

Team Guidance: Support, motivate, and mentor the team during service, leading by example on the floor. ​

Operations & Compliance: Manage opening and closing procedures, cashing up, cellar maintenance, and strict adherence to health, safety, and licensing laws. ​

Guest Relations: Build great rapport with our loyal regulars, welcome new guests, and resolve customer queries swiftly and professionally. ​

What We’re Looking For ​

Extensive Hospitality Experience: Proven supervisory or management experience in a busy pub or restaurant environment.

​Eye for Detail: High personal and professional standards; someone who spots the little things that make a big difference. ​

Well-Presented & Professional: A welcoming presence front-of-house with excellent communication skills. ​

Team Player: A positive attitude and the willingness to jump in wherever needed, from pouring pints to running food. ​

Flexibility: Available to work a full-time schedule, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. ​

A Personal Licence (APLH) is desirable, but not essential. ​
