We have multiple Duty Manager positions available and are looking for people who genuinely love hospitality, enjoy working with people and take pride in leading a team through a busy shift. You’ll be hands-on, confident making decisions and someone who enjoys being part of the action.

Our Duty Manager role suits someone with relevant hospitality experience who is ready to take responsibility for a shift, support their team and help keep the venue running smoothly. Whether you’re an experienced Duty Manager or ready to take the next step from a supervisory or team leader role, there’s plenty of opportunity to find the right fit and build your career with Republic.

All positions are permanent and offer a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Why Work With Us?

  • $30.00–$33.00 per hour, depending on experience
  • Staff discounts across Republic venues
  • Opportunities to grow your career within Republic
  • Supportive and experienced leadership teams
  • Opportunities to work across a range of Queenstown hospitality venues
  • A variety of venues and hospitality styles to find the right fit for you

What You’ll Do:

Our Duty Managers take responsibility for the venue during their shift, ensuring the team, customers and day-to-day operations are well looked after.

The role suits someone who is confident leading a team, comfortable making decisions and able to remain calm and organised in a busy hospitality environment.

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the venue during assigned shifts
  • Lead and supervise the front-of-house team, allocating tasks and providing direction and support
  • Monitor service standards and ensure customers receive a high standard of service
  • Deal with customer queries, complaints and operational issues appropriately
  • Ensure responsible service of alcohol and compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act, license conditions and company procedures
  • Monitor patron behavior and manage intoxicated or disruptive customers appropriately
  • Work closely with kitchen, bar, security and management teams to coordinate service
  • Act as the Venue Manager’s delegate when they are not present
  • Complete venue opening and closing procedures, including cash-ups, security checks and lock-up
  • Support health and safety procedures and respond appropriately to incidents and hazards
  • Complete incident reports and other operational records as required
  • Assist with staff training, onboarding and development
  • Maintain venue presentation, cleanliness and operational standards
  • Assist with stock, deliveries and general venue organisation as required
  • Lead by example and uphold Republic Hospitality Group’s values of Care, Grow and Fun

What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant hospitality experience, including experience in a supervisory, team leader or Duty Manager capacity
  • Current LCQ and Manager’s Certificate, or the ability to obtain a Manager’s Certificate in New Zealand
  • Experience supervising or leading a hospitality team
  • Good understanding of responsible service of alcohol and hospitality licensing requirements
  • Strong communication, organisation and people skills
  • Ability to make decisions and remain calm under pressure
  • Confident dealing with customers, staff and operational issues
  • Reliable, professional and willing to get stuck in
  • Availability to work days, evenings, weekends and public holidays
