Duty Manager

About the role

Support the Tavern Manager and confidently deputise in their absence ensuring effective decisions are made in the best interest of all stakeholders. Supervise and motivate the front-line team to ensure compliance with Wallis and industry standards. Actively enforce Liquor Licensing and Gaming regulations. Drive service excellence. Lead by example.

Key responsibilities

• Be a visible, positive, and receptive go-to person on your Duty Shift
• Proactively manage and monitor all staff and operational aspects of the running of the shift
• Develop, implement, and monitor Gaming promotions
• Pay out winnings and refill hoppers as required
• Clear money from machines and clear jammed coins from hoppers
• Maintain the IGA Barring/photo register and ensure all Gaming staff are informed of any new orders received
• Actively enforce Liquor Licensing and Gaming Care regulations and report any breaches to the Venue Manager
• Act as Chief Emergency Warden on your rostered duty shift and respond accordingly to any emergency
• Role-model expected workplace behaviours and actively enforce all Company policies, procedures and WHS standards
• Ensure that all Gaming staff are aware of and comply with their legal obligations as outlined in the Gaming Machines Act 1992

About you

• Current RSA, RSG, RP and First Aid
• Current Drivers Licence
• Responsible Person Licence
• Fit, energetic and self-motivated
• Professional and efficient approach to work
• Effective communication skills and competent IT skills
• Proven understanding of Customer Service principals and expectations
• High degree of personal and professional integrity
• Well-developed coaching and training skills
• Knowledge of public venue operations and basic administration and accounting
