Duty Manager / Receptionist

About the role

This is a hands-on role that combines front desk reception with responsibility for the smooth running of the hostel during your shift. You'll be one of the key people our guests interact with, providing great service while keeping things running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Welcoming guests and providing a friendly, professional check-in and check-out experience
• Managing reception enquiries, bookings, payments and guest requests
• Acting as the Duty Manager during assigned shifts and taking responsibility for the property
• Responding confidently to guest issues and resolving problems as they arise
• Supporting the safety, security and wellbeing of guests
• Completing end-of-shift procedures and handovers
• Working closely with housekeeping, maintenance and other team members
• Helping create a fun, social and welcoming environment for our guests
• Ensuring BUNK's standards and procedures are maintained throughout your shift

About you

• Has previous experience in accommodation, hospitality, tourism or customer service
• Is confident working independently and making decisions
• Has strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Is comfortable dealing with challenging guest situations
• Can remain calm and professional when things get busy
• Has a genuine interest in providing great guest experiences
• Is reliable, organised and takes responsibility for their shift
• Is comfortable working evenings and weekends
• Has previous Duty Manager or supervisory experience (preferred, but not essential)
• Previous hostel or hotel reception experience will be highly regarded
