About the role

Strawberry Tree Kaikōura is an award winning, well-established gastro pub known for its welcoming atmosphere, live music, exceptional food, and excellent service. We're currently seeking 2 x full-time Duty Managers to join our team and help lead the daily operations of our lively bar and restaurant. These are permanent positions offering the opportunity to grow within a dynamic hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide prompt, welcoming front-of-house service, ensuring high-quality food and beverage delivery
• Manage daily bar and restaurant operations, maintaining a smooth and efficient workflow
• Respond professionally to customer inquiries and feedback
• Train, supervise, and mentor new and junior front-of-house staff
• Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and place orders as needed
• Ensure all products and services are correctly displayed and accurately priced
• Uphold full compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and all licensing regulations
• Promote and maintain a safe, responsible drinking environment for both patrons and staff
• Oversee responsible alcohol service, including checking IDs and monitoring consumption
• Maintain accurate Duty Manager signage, incident registers, and alcohol management records

About you

• NZQF Level 2 or 3 qualification in hospitality, OR at least one year of relevant experience
• Relevant supervisory or team leading experience preferred
• LCQ and/or current Manager's Certificate an advantage (training can be provided)
• Full driving license is an advantage
