What they need

Great manufacturing businesses don’t simply produce exceptional products – they create environments where safety, quality, teamwork, and operational excellence are part of everything they do. By following robust processes, maintaining high standards, and taking pride in every stage of production, they consistently deliver outstanding results for both customers and colleagues.

As our Dyehouse Operator, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day operation of the Dyehouse, preparing chemicals and processing batches through the dye vessels to ensure leather is produced consistently to the required specification. With a strong focus on quality, safety, accuracy, and teamwork, you’ll help ensure every batch meets the high standards our customers expect.

In this role you will:

  • Prepare chemicals accurately and safely for processing batches through the dye vessels, following required specifications and procedures
  • Operate dyehouse equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and process sheets
  • Consistently dye leather to the required shade, maintaining quality and consistency throughout the process
  • Accurately record weights, process information, and production data to ensure effective production control and traceability
  • Inspect hides throughout processing, identifying and reporting quality concerns or deviations from specification
  • Work closely with the Supervisor and wider team to achieve production targets, maintain quality, and ensure efficient workflow
  • Follow all Health and Safety procedures, proactively identifying hazards and contributing to our Zero Tolerance Health & Safety culture
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment while supporting teamwork and continuous improvement

You’re someone who takes pride in doing a job properly. You understand that producing high-quality leather relies on attention to detail, consistency, accurate processes, and a commitment to safety. You’re reliable, hardworking, and willing to learn, with the determination to achieve high standards every day.

You will:

  • Excellent attention to detail, with a strong focus on producing consistent, high-quality outputs
  • Able to accurately follow process sheets, Standard Operating Procedures, and detailed instructions
  • Effective communicator who is confident raising concerns and working closely with Supervisors and colleagues
  • Committed to achieving production targets while maintaining high standards of quality and Health & Safety
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new processes, equipment, and skills
  • Strong team player who works collaboratively and supports the wider production operation
  • Reliable, dedicated, and determined to deliver high standards of performance and excellence
  • Previous manufacturing or industrial experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided

The impact you will have

As a Dyehouse Operator, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring every batch of leather is processed safely, accurately, and consistently. Through careful chemical preparation, monitoring, accurate record keeping, and attention to detail, you’ll help deliver high-quality outputs that meet customer expectations.

Your commitment to Health and Safety, teamwork, and following robust processes will help create a safe, supportive, and high-performing working environment. Working closely with your supervisor and colleagues, you’ll contribute to efficient production and take pride in delivering excellent results every day.

What’s in it for you:

You’ll benefit from a comprehensive rewards package designed to support your wellbeing, financial security, and career development. This includes a company pension, life assurance, company sick pay, enhanced annual leave that increases with service, and access to a health and wellbeing programme alongside an Employee Assistance Programme with private GP services. You’ll also have opportunities to grow through coaching, training, and development support, plus practical perks such as cycle to work and electric vehicle schemes, free on-site parking, and access to a range of retail discounts.

We believe our strength comes from our people. We value diversity, encourage development, and create an environment where everyone can thrive.

Ready to be part of the story?

If you’re a reliable and hardworking individual who takes pride in producing high-quality work, enjoys being part of a team, and is committed to working safely and consistently, we’d love to hear from you.

Whether you already have manufacturing experience or are looking to develop a career within a specialist production environment, we’ll provide the training and support you need to succeed as a Dyehouse Operator.
