E-Commerce Content Specialist

The Content Department is seeking a full-time, in-person (not remote) Content Specialist to join our team, help keep product information accurate and up to date, write informational and instructional blog-style articles, and edit website navigation to improve the user experience. This role is for someone with the patience to research and review product information – ensuring accuracy and completeness. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has strong problem-solving skills, and is open to learning and asking the right questions so they can describe products at a basic level to online customers. This position combines independent work with collaborative problem-solving.

• This position is for someone willing to write original content, not generate AI content. We use AI as a tool to understand products and make simple processes more efficient.

Day-to-day/Responsibilities:

Day-to-day work depends on ongoing projects but may include one or more of the following.

• Writing product titles to clarify the purpose and compatibility, include keywords, and match the formatting of like products site by site
• Write short product descriptions to briefly explain the purpose, compatibility, function, and features of the product
• Write product descriptions including a summary of the product followed by bullet point features and specifications
• Add and update product attributes (filterable characteristics)
• Write informational and instructional content for blog-style articles using our in-house HTML style guide templates
• Write and format landing page content including category grids and header paragraphs
• Make small edits to and upload product images and PDFs

Qualifications:

• Excel - data table creation, filtering, sorting
• Ability to handle large data sets (sometimes 1000+ Excel rows)
• Ability to balance accuracy and time efficiency
• Clear and friendly written and verbal communication skills
• Patience and interest in learning about products and processes
• Problem-solving mindset
• Creative/Visual eye for page formatting and design
• Basic understanding and regard for SEO best practices – keywords and phrasing, original and unique content

Bonus Skills/Experience:

• Basic understanding of HTML
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop Interest in e-commerce SEO strategy for both B2B and B2C businesses
