Early Education Centre Cook

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Early Education Centre Cook to join our team at The Learning Garden Early Education, Care and Kindergarten in Jimboomba. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and delicious meals for the children in our care, ensuring they receive a balanced diet to support their growth and development.

What you'll be doing

• Plan and prepare healthy, well-balanced meals and snacks that comply with dietary requirements and children's preferences
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and food safety in the kitchen
• Order and manage food supplies and inventory
• Collaborate with the education team to incorporate learning opportunities around food, nutrition and cooking
• Adhere to all relevant health, safety and food handling regulations
• Provide a positive, nurturing and engaging environment for the children

What we're looking for

• Formal qualification in commercial cookery or equivalent experience in a similar role
• Understanding of nutrition and experience in preparing meals for children
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for providing high-quality care and education for young children
• Working with Children's Check (Blue Card)
• Completed Child Safety Training
