Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that align with early childhood education standards and promote literacy, math, physical activity, and social-emotional growth.
• Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and positive behavior management.
• Deliver engaging lessons focused on child development instruction, preschool teaching techniques, and classroom management strategies.
• Support children’s physical well-being by supervising toddler care activities and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress, behavior, and developmental milestones through clear and compassionate updates.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, standardized testing results, and classroom activities in compliance with mandated reporting laws.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan special activities, assessments, and interventions tailored to children’s individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
• Experience working with children in preschool or childcare settings; familiarity with toddler care is highly valued.
• Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.
• Ability to implement behavior management strategies that foster positive social interactions and emotional regulation.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
• Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety procedures such as first aid and CPR certification.
• Experience teaching physical education or integrating movement activities into daily lessons.
