A nursery that cares about you too!
At Smallville Nursery, we believe that happy children need happy, supported staff.
We're an award-winning nursery set in idyllic surroundings, and we're looking for an enthusiastic Early Years Apprentice to join our friendly team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with children and wants to start a career in Early Years while gaining a recognised childcare qualification.
But this role isn't just about what we need from you. We want you to enjoy coming to work, feel valued while you're here and have the support you need to develop your skills and confidence.
A 4-day working week – work your 40 hours across four days and have one Wellbeing Day off every week
Mental health support – access to professional mental-health support and therapists when you need them
Employee discounts – access to savings across hundreds of shops, retailers, restaurants, days out and more
Company pension
Company events
A supportive, friendly team
A workplace where your wellbeing and work-life balance genuinely matter
Your 'Wellbeing Day' could be used however you choose - whether that's spending time with family, getting life admin done, pursuing hobbies or simply having a day to recharge.
What makes Smallville different?
We believe in creating an environment where children can learn through play, follow their interests and enjoy being curious. We want our practitioners to have the same opportunity to enjoy their work.
There will be messy play, outdoor adventures, pirate ships, pretend tea parties, plenty of singing and probably some unexplained substances on your clothing by the end of the day!
Most importantly, you'll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with children and their families and be part of a team that genuinely values what you do.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- A genuine interest in working with young children
- A passion for starting a career in Early Years
- A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
- A positive attitude and reliable approach to work
- Previous childcare or nursery experience – desirable but not essential
- GCSEs or equivalent – desirable
