Early Years Apprentice

Little Learners | Start Your Journey, Make a Difference

At Little Learners, we believe every child deserves the very best start in life, and every great early years practitioner deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

We are passionate about providing high-quality care and education in a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment where children feel safe, valued and inspired to explore the world around them. We believe in learning through play, building meaningful relationships and creating magical moments that help shape confident, happy and curious little learners.

We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and caring Early Years Apprentice to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves being around children, is eager to learn and wants to build a rewarding career in early years education.

You don't need years of experience to make a difference. What matters most to us is your attitude, kindness, willingness to learn and genuine passion for helping children flourish. We will support you as you develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to become an outstanding early years practitioner.

At Little Learners, we believe that investing in our team is just as important as investing in our children. We are committed to creating a supportive, positive workplace where you feel valued, encouraged and proud of the difference you make every day.

What Will You Be Doing?

As an Early Years Apprentice, you will learn from experienced practitioners and become an important part of our Little Learners family. You will gain hands-on experience while working towards your early years qualification, developing the skills and confidence needed to build a successful career.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children's learning and development: Help plan and deliver fun, engaging activities that encourage children to explore, discover and develop new skills.
  • Learning through play: Support children in their play, helping them develop communication, creativity, independence and confidence.
  • Providing high-quality care: Help create a safe, nurturing and welcoming environment where every child feels secure, respected and valued.
  • Supporting children's wellbeing: Learn how to meet children's individual needs, promote positive relationships and support their emotional, physical and social development.
  • Embracing outdoor learning: Get involved in outdoor adventures, nature-based activities and exciting opportunities for children to learn beyond the classroom.
  • Building relationships with families: Learn the importance of positive communication and working in partnership with parents and carers.
  • Working as part of a team: Support your colleagues, share ideas and learn from experienced practitioners who are passionate about what they do.
  • Developing your professional skills: Build your understanding of the WMS, safeguarding, health and safety, child development and inclusive practice.

Every day will bring new opportunities to learn something different, make a connection and help a child achieve something special.

What Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone who brings enthusiasm, kindness and a genuine desire to make a difference.

You might be just starting your career, leaving education or looking for a fresh start in a role that offers purpose and progression.

We would love you to have:

  • A genuine passion for working with babies and young children.
  • A warm, caring and patient nature.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to work as part of a team.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for play, exploration and outdoor activities.
  • A responsible approach to children's safety, safeguarding and wellbeing.
  • A commitment to completing your apprenticeship training and developing your skills.
  • The ability to listen, take feedback on board and learn from others.

Previous nursery experience is not essential. We are more interested in your potential, your values and your enthusiasm for becoming an excellent early years practitioner.

You will need to meet the apprenticeship eligibility requirements and be willing to work towards the relevant early years qualification. An enhanced DBS check and satisfactory pre-employment checks will be required.

Why Start Your Career at Little Learners?

Choosing your first career is a big step, and we want you to feel confident that you are joining a setting where you can learn, grow and feel genuinely supported.

At Little Learners, we believe that happy, supported and confident practitioners make a real difference to children's lives.

Here's what you can look forward to:

  • High-quality training and support: Learn from experienced practitioners who will guide you, share their knowledge and help you develop your skills throughout your apprenticeship.
  • A recognised qualification: Work towards a relevant early years qualification while gaining valuable practical experience in a real nursery environment.
  • A supportive team: Join a friendly team that values teamwork, kindness, encouragement and learning together.
  • Your wellbeing matters: We recognise the importance of feeling supported, listened to and valued. We want you to feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas and being yourself.
  • Real opportunities to grow: Build your confidence, develop your knowledge and explore opportunities for progression within early years education.
  • A chance to make a difference: Be part of children's earliest learning experiences and celebrate their achievements, discoveries and milestones.
  • A varied and rewarding role: No two days are the same! From creative play and outdoor adventures to story time, messy play and those wonderful little moments of discovery, every day brings something new.

We don't expect you to know everything from day one. We want you to be curious, open to learning and excited about developing into the best practitioner you can be.

The Little Learners Difference

At Little Learners, we believe early years education is about so much more than looking after children. It's about building relationships, nurturing confidence, supporting emotional wellbeing and giving children the foundations they need to thrive.

We want our apprentices to be proud of their work, confident in their abilities and excited about their future. You will be encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, learn from experience and develop your own strengths within a supportive environment.

If you have a caring heart, a curious mind and a passion for helping little ones grow, we would love to help you take your first steps into an incredibly rewarding career.

Ready to Begin Your Journey?

If you are enthusiastic, motivated and ready to learn, we would love to hear from you!
