Responsibilities

• Assist lead educators in planning and implementing engaging activities that promote early learning and development.
• Support children with their daily routines, including meal times, naps, play, and learning activities.
• Foster a safe and inclusive environment by supervising children closely and maintaining health and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure a cohesive approach to childcare.
• Help manage classroom resources, maintain cleanliness, and organize learning materials for daily use.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development to enhance your childcare expertise.
• Support the management team in supervising other staff members when needed, demonstrating leadership qualities.

Experience

• Previous experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood education setting is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to manage groups of young children with patience and enthusiasm.
• Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Experience in childcare or nursery environments that involve child management and developmental activities.
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices.

Applicants must already be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), or be eligible for SSSC registration and willing to register within the required timescale.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 24.0 per week
