Are you an experienced Early Years Practitioner looking for a new challenge in a friendly, rural setting?

Daisy Chains is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and experienced practitioner to join our small team, working across our Nursery and Out of School Club with children aged from 2 to 11 years.

Experience really is essential for this role!

Why? Because working with children means being able to multitask like a professional…

On any given day, you may need to be:

A nurse – “I’ve hurt my finger!”
A superhero – cape optional!
A snack-maker and occasional cook
A cleaner – usually approximately 30 seconds after you just cleaned it
A safeguarding officer with eyes in the back of your head
An artist helping create a self-portrait that may or may not resemble a human
A coat-and-shoe expert – including solving the mystery of the disappearing shoe
A dancer who can absolutely dance like no one is watching
A teacher, storyteller and enthusiastic singer – even when you can't remember the second verse
And, most importantly, a safe, caring and trusted adult for our children.

All of this can happen before 10am! About the role

Daisy Chains is a rural Nursery and Out of School Club based in Thurlstone Village, providing care for children aged 2–11 years.

The role involves working across both our Nursery and Out of School Club, so you need to be confident adapting your approach to meet the very different needs of our younger and older children.

We are a small team, so we are looking for someone who is experienced, confident, uses their initiative and understands that everyone mucks in!

Full-time position
Term time only
Working with children aged 2–11 years
Working within our opening hours of 7:30am–6:00pm
Hours worked on a rota system
Your rota will be set termly, so your working hours will only change from term to term rather than week to week

Who are we looking for?

We need someone who has previous experience working within an Early Years setting and understands the realities and responsibilities of the role.

You should be confident working as part of a small team, have a good understanding of safeguarding, be able to use your initiative and, above all, genuinely enjoy working with children.

You will need to know when to be silly, when to be serious and when the mysterious wet patch on the floor requires immediate investigation!
