Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Earthwork Estimator to join our construction team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with earthmoving and excavation projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability. Your expertise will help shape project budgets, coordinate with clients and vendors, and contribute to the successful delivery of mid-large-scale commercial/residential construction projects. Duties

• Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications related to earthwork projects to determine scope and requirements.
• Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and other construction management tools to prepare detailed cost estimates for earthmoving activities.
• Analyze material requirements from blueprints and technical drawings, including soil excavation, grading, site preparation, and related activities.
• Develop accurate project budgets by estimating labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor costs while considering project timelines and site conditions.
• Engage in negotiation with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing on materials and services.
• Manage project estimates through spreadsheets and cost management software to ensure alignment with project goals and client expectations.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and design teams to review bids, clarify scope details, and refine estimates as needed.
• Monitor ongoing project costs against estimates to support cost control efforts throughout the project lifecycle.
• Interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately to estimate quantities of earthwork materials required for each phase of construction.
• Maintain detailed records of all estimation processes, correspondence, and revisions for auditability and future reference.

Experience

• Proven experience as an Earthwork Estimator within the construction industry, with a strong background in residential/ commercial projects.
• Extensive knowledge of construction estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate or similar tools.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel for creating detailed spreadsheets and cost analysis reports.
• Demonstrated ability to read construction drawings accurately and interpret technical specifications related to earthwork operations.
• Experience managing projects as a construction estimator from initial bid through project completion while maintaining budget integrity.
• Familiarity with construction management software systems used for tracking costs, schedules, and project documentation.
• Excellent negotiation skills with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to achieve favorable terms without compromising quality or safety standards.
• Solid understanding of material cost estimating, pricing strategies, cost control measures, and estimating material requirements from blueprints.
• Construction site experience is highly desirable to better understand field conditions impacting estimates.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
