Earthworks Superintendent

MANSA RESOURCES is a growing mining company operating gold assets in West Africa. Following the successful operation of our mine in Guinea, the Group is now developing a major gold mining project in Liberia.

To support the construction phase of the Dugbe Gold Project, we are seeking an experienced Earthworks Superintendent to oversee major earthworks and civil construction activities across the site. This role is critical to ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and schedules.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Earthworks Manager , the Earthworks Superintendent will supervise contractors delivering earthworks and civil infrastructure works, including roads, bridges, drainage systems, building platforms, and tailings storage facility (TSF) earthworks.

The successful candidate will provide strong field leadership, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and support the development of national employees through coaching and knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day earthworks and civil construction activities.
• Manage contractors and ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and technical requirements.
• Monitor construction progress, productivity, schedules, and resource utilization.
• Oversee road, bridge, drainage, bulk earthworks, and TSF construction activities.
• Support planning, reporting, and construction coordination across multiple work fronts.
• Participate in inspections, quality control activities, and incident investigations.
• Identify and mitigate construction risks and resolve field issues.
• Mentor and develop national employees through on-the-job training and coaching.

Candidate Profile

Education

• Diploma, technical qualification, or equivalent experience in Civil Construction, Earthworks, or a related discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 15 years of experience in earthworks, civil construction, or major infrastructure projects.
• Experience supervising large-scale earthworks and contractor activities.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, earthmoving equipment, and site supervision.
• Mining and West African experience highly desirable.
• Experience with TSF, road, bridge, or major infrastructure projects is an advantage.
