As an ECAD Engineer at HCLTech, you will play a crucial role in designing high-speed, multilayer printed circuit boards (PCBs) that power next-generation electronic devices. This is a high-impact position where your technical expertise will drive the successful delivery of complex PCB designs, ensuring product performance, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate technical requirements into robust and reliable PCB solutions.

Your Role & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-speed PCBs supporting protocols such as DDR4/5, LPDDR, PCIe, MIPI (10 Gig+), Ethernet, and more.
• Execute multilayer PCB designs, including library part creation, component placement, routing, and Design Rule Check (DRC) setup and clearance.
• Generate and verify manufacturing files (Gerber, Step, .dxf) and perform panelization and CAM analysis.
• Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), and Design for Excellence (DFX) assessments, and implement recommendations in PCB layouts.
• Analyze Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) reports, interpret results, and implement corrective actions in PCB designs.
• Ensure compliance with EMI/EMC standards and optimize PCB layouts for minimal interference.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to address technical and production challenges, verify files using Valor and similar tools, and support DFM reviews.
• Recommend and validate optimal PCB stack-ups for various applications.
• Support continuous design improvements and incorporate feedback from cross-functional engineering and production teams.
• Utilize Altium Designer and other industry-standard ECAD tools to deliver high-quality PCB designs on schedule.

Qualifications & Experience

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Proven hands-on experience in high-speed PCB design, specifically with DDR4/5, LPDDR, PCIe, MIPI, and Ethernet technologies.
• Strong expertise in multilayer PCB design, including library part creation, placement, routing, and DRC management.
• Demonstrated skills in generating and verifying manufacturing files (Gerber, Step, .dxf), panelization, and CAM/DFM verification using tools like Valor.
• In-depth understanding of DFM/DFT/DFX principles and EMI/EMC compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting SI/PI analysis reports and integrating design changes accordingly.
• Experience with Altium Designer or similar PCB design ECAD tools.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
