Duties

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in young children
• Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and independence
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to support each child's individual needs
• Monitor and assess children's progress, maintaining detailed records of developmental milestones and observations
• Incorporate bilingual instruction (English and French) to support language development for diverse learners
• Manage classroom routines, transitions, and behavior management strategies with patience and professionalism
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan activities that align with early childhood education standards and special education requirements
• Utilize computer skills for record-keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes
• Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, including supervision during activities and emergency procedures

Qualifications

• Level 1 ECE Certificate
• First Aid
• Police Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Check
• Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including classroom experience
• Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
• Bilingual fluency in English is highly desirable
• Experience working with children with disabilities or in special education settings is preferred
• Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—are essential for engaging children and collaborating with families
• Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within tight timeframes
• Proficiency in computer operation for documentation, lesson planning, and communication tools
• Leadership qualities that inspire confidence and foster teamwork among staff members
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs effectively
