ECG Technician

Diagnostic Performance: Execute standard 12-lead electrocardiograms (ECG) on adult and pediatric outpatients and inpatients in accordance with hospital protocols.

Patient Preparation: Greet patients warmly, verify identity using double-identifiers, explain the diagnostic process to alleviate anxiety, and prepare skin surfaces to ensure optimal electrode-to-skin contact.

Critical Rhythm Escalation: Maintain an intermediate understanding of cardiac rhythms; immediately identify and escalate life-threatening arrhythmias (e.g., STEMI, Ventricular Fibrillation, high-degree AV blocks) to the attending Cardiologist .

Holter & Event Monitoring: Apply, calibrate, and remove ambulatory Holter monitors or blood pressure monitors, instructing the patient thoroughly on tracking diaries and event button usage.

Treadmill Stress Test Assistance: Prepare, drape, and hook up patients for cardiac stress tests, monitoring real-time vital signs and lead integrity under the direct supervision of the attending Cardiologist.

Documentation & EHR Management: Clear artifact and baseline sway from tests, print clear tracings, and accurately upload data files or log test completions into the Hospital Information System (HIS).

Equipment Maintenance & Infection Control: Clean, sanitize, and verify calibration of ECG carts and diagnostic leads after every patient encounter; maintain stock levels of electrodes, gels, and recording paper; report technical faults to Biomedical Engineering.
