ECHO Technologist

Overview The Echocardiography Technologist oversees technical procedures, patient care, and workflow in the echocardiography lab. They perform a full range of cardiac diagnostic tests, assist physicians and sonographers, and ensure high-quality echocardiographic exams.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex echocardiographic procedures, maintaining imaging quality standards.
• Review patient data for accuracy and completeness; document studies and charges accurately.
• Administer contrast agents when appropriate and document all procedures thoroughly.
• Participate in a rotation of call duties, providing compassionate care and timely completion of all Echo tests, including stress tests and pediatric echoes.
• Cross-train in other divisions of cardiovascular services and seek ongoing professional development.

Qualifications & Skills

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days; ARDMS or CCI registration within 1 year.
• Experience in healthcare or an associate’s degree in sonography; prior echocardiography experience preferred.
• Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and ability to critique imaging quality.
• Team-oriented mindset with compassionate patient care focus.
