What they need

Ecommerce & Digital Growth Executive

£28000-36000 + performance related bonus
Full-time | Permanent | On-site
Raptor Building Supplies Ltd – Higher Walton, Preston, Lancashire

Raptor Building Supplies is an establishedUK building supplies business based in Lancashire delivering nationwide

We employ around 30 people across sales, accounts, dispatch, warehouse and driving roles and operate from approximately 25,000 sq ft of warehouse space.

We already have the infrastructure in place: stock, suppliers, customers, warehouse operations, sales staff, delivery capability and an existing Shopify ecommerce website.

Now we want to significantly grow the online side of the business.

We are looking for an ambitious Ecommerce & Digital Growth Executive who wants to take real responsibility and help turn our website into a much larger national sales channel.

This role could suit either a strong recent graduate with commercial potential or someone with around 1–3 years of ecommerce or digital marketing experience who is ready for more ownership.

This is not simply a website maintenance role.

A major part of the position will be creating and running campaigns that bring relevant customers to the website and convert that traffic into profitable sales.

What you will be doing

You will work closely with the Director and gradually take increasing ownership of the ecommerce operation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and improving our Shopify website
  • Improving product listings, categories, imagery and merchandising
  • Planning and running campaigns to generate website traffic
  • Managing Google Ads and Google Shopping activity
  • Working with Google Merchant Center
  • Email marketing
  • SEO
  • Creating promotions, bundles and offers
  • Ecommerce analytics and reporting
  • Improving website conversion rates
  • Increasing average order value
  • Customer acquisition
  • Repeat-purchase campaigns
  • Competitor analysis
  • Working with suppliers to improve product imagery and information
  • Identifying new online growth opportunities
  • Testing campaigns and measuring the commercial results

The objective is straightforward:

Generate relevant traffic → convert that traffic into customers → grow profitable online sales.

Learn the business and take ownership

You do not need to understand the building supplies industry from day one.

You will be expected to learn our products, customers, suppliers, pricing, margins, stock availability, promotions, delivery operation, seasonality and how our sales team works.

Over time, we want the successful candidate to become increasingly self-sufficient.

The long-term expectation is that you can identify an opportunity, build a campaign around it, launch it, analyse the results and improve it without needing constant direction.

What we are looking for

We are open to both graduates and candidates with early-career ecommerce experience.

Relevant backgrounds may include:

  • Ecommerce
  • Digital Marketing
  • Marketing
  • Business
  • Data / Analytics
  • Computer Science
  • or a related discipline

Experience with some of the following would be beneficial:

  • Shopify
  • Google Ads
  • Google Shopping
  • Google Analytics / GA4
  • Google Merchant Center
  • SEO
  • Klaviyo or Mailchimp
  • Canva / Adobe
  • Excel / Google Sheets
  • Ecommerce reporting
  • Website merchandising

You do not need experience in every area.

We are more interested in finding someone who is:

  • Ambitious
  • Commercially minded
  • Proactive
  • Analytical
  • Organised
  • Confident with technology
  • Comfortable working with numbers
  • Interested in sales growth
  • Willing to learn quickly
  • Capable of taking increasing responsibility

Why join Raptor?

You will not be joining a startup trying to build everything from scratch.

Raptor already has an established multi-million-pound trading business, around 30 employees, approximately 25,000 sq ft of warehouse space, an experienced sales team, accounts and administration, warehouse and dispatch operations, drivers, existing customers, established suppliers, significant stockholding and an existing Shopify ecommerce operation.

The infrastructure is already there.

The opportunity is to help us use it to build a much stronger ecommerce business.

You will work closely with the Director, and good ideas can be acted on quickly.

If you identify an opportunity and can demonstrate why it makes commercial sense, we want you to test it.

Performance-related bonus

Alongside the basic salary, the position will include a performance-related bonus linked to ecommerce growth and commercial results.

We want the person helping grow the online business to benefit from that growth.

As the ecommerce operation develops, there will also be scope for the role, responsibility and earning potential to grow.

Career progression

This role has genuine scope to develop.

The long-term opportunity is for the successful candidate to take increasing ownership of Raptor's ecommerce and digital sales operation.

We are looking for someone who wants to build a career, take responsibility and potentially help build the department they could eventually lead.

How to apply

Please apply with:

  • Your CV
  • A short covering note explaining why the role interests you
  • Details of any relevant ecommerce or digital experience
  • Examples of relevant university projects, placements, internships, freelance work or personal projects where appropriate

In your application, please tell us:

Why are you interested in ecommerce, what interests you about helping grow Raptor's online sales, and what do you think you could bring to the role?

Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a short practical ecommerce exercise as part of the interview process.

Pay: £28,000.00-£45,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Company pension
  • Free parking
  • On-site parking
