Role Overview:
The ideal candidate will have a background within the building industry and a passion for all things building supplies. You will work with the team to drive sales success and operational success by customer satisfaction and exceptional service at all times.

You live and breathe timber and digital commerce, treating our online TradeMe “Clearance Shop” like your own mini business unit. One moment you’re mining TimberSmart for slow-moving packs, the next you’re shooting photos, writing thumb-stopping listings, and slotting them into an EDM. You’ll own the entire online sales cycle - inventory curation, price-setting, listing optimisation, freight quoting, real-time Q&A, and post-sale follow-ups with practical, builder-level advice.

Whether you’re on a keyboard fine-tuning SEO, out in the yard measuring boards, or strapping a pack onto a ute, you’ll keep cash flowing, customers smiling, and aged stock moving - powered by an entrepreneurial flair that connects sales, e-commerce, and logistics into one seamless machine.

About You:

• Timber talker: You know the difference between LOSP, H3.2, and H5, or you’ll learn fast.
• Digital specialist: Trade Me, Shopify, Meta Ads, Mailchimp – if it has a dashboard, you’re at home.
• Forklift ticket (or willing to get one in week 1).
• Sales hunter: Comfortable on the phone, quick with a quote, relentless on follow-ups.
• Organised operator: You can juggle listings, yard picks, and customer calls without dropping a board.
• Problem-solver: “Can you consolidate those two orders and get it to Taupō by Friday?” – music to your ears.

Key Responsibilities

• Curate & price stock – spot aged packs, set clearance deals, bundle or optimise for margin.
• Create listings – shoot photos, write SEO titles/descriptions, publish to Trade Me & EDMs.
• Own online sales cycle – answer enquiries, quote freight, invoice, and track delivery.
• Advise customers – give builder-level product guidance and upsell extras.
• Book freight – secure best carrier rates, prep labels, monitor shipments.
• Keep data accurate – run rolling stock-takes and update ERP in real time.
• Nurture loyalty – follow up post-delivery, resolve issues, gather testimonials.
• Report performance – track views, conversions, gross margin, and aged stock
• Inventory control – coordinate daily with two yard staff on pack builds, run rolling stock-takes, and update our ERP in real time. Step in on the forklift or strapping line when extra hands are needed.
• Champion safety & tidiness – maintain a clean yard area and model safe handling.
