What they need

The Ecommerce Strategy Coordinator supports the strategic planning and performance of key product categories within the retail ecommerce channel, with a focus on driving sales growth and supporting omnichannel customer journeys. This role identifies category-level opportunities through performance analysis and customer insights, develops business plans and strategic recommendations, and works across teams to ensure initiatives are aligned, executed effectively, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Analyze online category performance, customer behavior, and market trends to identify and prioritize opportunities that drive retail ecommerce sales growth, including traffic, conversion, and overall customer experience.

Translate performance insights into clear, actionable category priorities and recommendations that align stakeholders around what matters most for growth within key product categories.

Develop and present business plans, strategic recommendations, and supporting analysis that influence ecommerce priorities and shape the future growth of key product categories.

Partner closely with Category Managers to influence category direction, gain alignment on priorities, and support informed decision-making across ecommerce and merchandising initiatives.

Guide and coordinate category-level initiatives by setting strategic guardrails, aligning timelines and dependencies, and working with cross-functional teams to ensure initiatives are executed as intended.

Maintain visibility into execution progress and outcomes, assessing effectiveness and collaborating with partners to course-correct when initiatives are not delivering expected results.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to align category strategies and ensure initiatives are executed cohesively to support omnichannel strategies and an exceptional customer experience.

Communicate priorities, insights, and recommendations clearly and effectively to drive shared understanding, alignment, and high-quality execution in support of category objectives.

Research the competitive landscape, digital trends, and best practices within assigned categories to inform strategic recommendations and identify opportunities to enhance sales growth and the customer experience.

Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve workflows, tools, and ways of working that strengthen category planning, execution alignment, and overall business outcomes.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, analytics, ecommerce, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

3–5 years of experience in ecommerce, merchandising, category strategy, digital strategy, or a related business role.

Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to frame ambiguous problems, identify what matters most, and translate insights into clear business direction.

Demonstrated ability to develop business plans, strategic recommendations, and presentations that influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Proven ability to drive alignment and influence decision-making without direct authority, including working through competing priorities.

Experience guiding initiatives from concept through execution by setting priorities, aligning stakeholders, and maintaining visibility into outcomes (without owning day-to-day execution).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate insights, recommendations, and priorities.

Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment while balancing short-term execution needs with long-term strategic objectives.

Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and a customer-first mindset.

Desired:

Experience supporting omnichannel strategies within a retail environment, including alignment between ecommerce and brick-and-mortar channels.

Familiarity with the automotive aftermarket or other complex, technical retail categories where product accuracy, availability, and customer trust are critical.

Experience partnering closely with Category Managers, Merchants, or cross-functional teams to shape strategy and guide execution.

Demonstrated interest in digital trends, customer behavior, and emerging ecommerce best practices.

Experience preparing materials for leadership reviews, strategic planning discussions, or roadmap alignment.

Interest in growing strategic capability over time, including mentoring others or contributing to broader category or business planning efforts.
