Edge Enablement SME (Principal / Lead Consultant)

Contract Opportunity.

I’m working with a client building a new Edge Hosting service for their factories and business domains, and they need an experienced consultant to set it up and hand it over to permanent teams.

Liverpool, hybrid with customer-site engagement as required

The role:

• Define the Edge Hosting service, including scope, service catalogue and consumption model
• Build the target operating model, governance, RACI and decision rights
• Industrialise factory onboarding, from demand intake through to service acceptance and run
• Turn technical patterns into repeatable offerings for Small, Standard, HA and AI-capable edge deployments
• Set up KPIs, SLAs and service management disciplines
• Lead knowledge transfer into permanent product and service teams

What they’re looking for:

• Experience establishing enterprise infrastructure, hybrid-cloud or edge services in large global organisations
• Strong service design and operating model background (ITIL, governance, operational readiness)
• Understanding of hybrid cloud, virtualisation/HCI, Kubernetes, networking, security and observability
• Experience designing catalogue or consumption-based infrastructure services
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication

Nice to have: manufacturing or IT/OT experience, Azure Local, Dell NativeEdge or VMware alternatives, SIAM and ServiceNow, scaling platforms across multiple countries.
