Job Title: EDI QA

Location: Remote

Employment Type: C2C

Rate: $50/hour on C2C

Primary Responsibilities

• Independently prioritize, design, execute, and automate tests for EDI software components.
• Develop test automation primarily in Clojure, with the ability to work in other languages and environments as required.
• Develop integration tests involving SQL, RabbitMQ, Lisp, and Linux.
• Understand CI/CD components and incorporate automation into sprint activities.
• Analyze defect severity, priority, usability, test scenarios, and business impact.
• Prioritize features and use cases based on business priorities.
• Write and maintain automated test scripts.
• Collaborate with Scrum teams during story grooming and acceptance-criteria definition.
• Ensure functional and non-functional acceptance criteria align with business value.
• Mentor and guide engineers and business stakeholders on quality engineering best practices.
• Test new interfaces for major customers and identify potential risks.
• Review implementation and companion guides to determine software requirements.
• Drive root-cause analysis and resolution to reduce recurring incidents.
• Work with data formats including X12, XML, and TSV.
• Work with databases including SQL/Postgres, MarkLogic, and Datomic.
• Investigate loading, transformation, and data-related issues.
• Review relevant code to identify risks and determine appropriate test coverage.
• Investigate complex or unclear problems and propose effective solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience testing major application integrations or product releases.
• 1+ year of experience writing automated tests in Clojure, using clojure.test or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with Linux command-line tools, including grep and SSH.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while following established standards and best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly adopt new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with RabbitMQ or other messaging/queueing systems.
• Experience with MarkLogic, Datomic, or document databases.
• Experience with Common Lisp.
• Experience with XSLT.
• Experience with Git.
