Editor / Proofreader (German)

About Us: We are an established calendar publisher, producing a wide range of calendar products for diverse audiences and markets. Accuracy, attention to detail, and well-researched content are at the heart of everything we create.

Responsibilities:

• Write text content for our Calendars
• Validate data accuracy for calendar‑specific content (e.g., public holidays, abbreviations, month/day names, language variants)
• Plan and manage editorial timelines, track revisions/approvals, and perform final copy checks (spelling/grammar/consistency)
• Fact check credits, sources, and legal attributions
• Ensure correct handling of licenses and copyright lines
• Perform layout reads in collaboration with Design (e.g., InDesign/InCopy), checking line breaks, hyphenation, kerning, and typographic hierarchy

Requirements:

• Native‑level German language skills with excellent writing and editing ability
• 3+ years’ experience in editorial work (publishing, magazine, agency, or in‑house brand)
• Strong command of orthography, grammar, and punctuation
• Hands‑on experience proofreading and reviewing print‑ready PDFs
• High attention to detail, methodical QA mindset, and the ability to meet deadlines in a multi‑project environment
• Solid collaboration and communication skills across Design, Product, Sales, and Prepress
• Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with editorial tools (e.g., track changes, comments, proofreading marks)
