What they need
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and schedules to ensure timely delivery for several projects simultaneously.
- Collaborate with internal teams (editorial, production) and external stakeholders (publisher, vendors) to ensure all deliverables are met.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the publishing house, author(s), and other stakeholders and provide regular updates on project progress.
- Review and oversee editorial work, ensuring content aligns with the publisher's style guide, tone, and standards as well as general editorial best practices.
- Coordinate with editors, proofreaders, and content strategists to ensure consistency, accuracy, and clarity of content throughout the manuscript.
- Review and approve copyediting output to ensure the accuracy of grammar, punctuation, syntax, and style as per the publisher's guidelines.
- Evaluate proofreading results to ensure all errors are identified and corrected before final production.
- Manage a cross-functional team, assigning tasks based on skillsets and ensuring a balanced workload, while adhering to deadlines.
- Oversee the quality control process for book content, layout, and design to ensure the final product aligns with the publisher's standards.
- Proactively identify potential risks and challenges to project timelines or quality and develop strategies to minimize delays.
