HCOS Education Assistants are independent contractors who provide program support, behaviour and academic interventions, and encouragement to Home Learners within the Inclusive Education Department. Please see our Education Assistant Profile for more information.

We are seeking an Education Assistant to work with students in the family home for the 2026-27 school year . This is a part-time contract position that may grow in hours over the course of the school year, depending on student needs and EA skillsets.

Location: Victoria, BC

Grade: 11 (Fully modified educational life skills program)

Schedule: 13+ hours per week

Monday – Thursday: 1:30 -4:00 pm

Friday: 12:30 – 4:00 pm

As the Education Assistant your duties and responsibilities will include:

Providing personal care, and supporting mobility, dressing, feeding, toileting and functional communication.

Collaborating with the Case Manager and the parent to support personalized learning opportunities

Assisting in carrying out IEP goals, working alongside the broader student support team

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:
Background working in Education, EA Support, Behaviour Intervention, or with children/youth with ASD and PDA.

A valid Certified Educational Assistant certificate (or training in process) is considered an asset

Know or willing to learn AAC, safe transfers and mobility support

What we offer:
Competitive Wage: $23.97 – $28.13 hourly depending on certification and experience
