About Braata Productions

Braata Productions is a multidisciplinary performing arts organization founded in 2009. Through performances and education programming, Braata brings Caribbean music, stories, movement, theatre, and culture to diverse audiences throughout New York City. The organization provides opportunities for Caribbean artists and creates meaningful connections across communities and generations.

Position Summary

Braata Productions is seeking an organized, collaborative, and detail-oriented Education Programs Coordinator to support the effective coordination and delivery of the organization's education programs.

The Education Programs Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day administration and coordination of education programs throughout Braata's primary education season. This position serves as a key point of contact for Teaching Artists, education partners, clients, and the Executive Director, helping ensure that programs are appropriately staffed, well organized, professionally delivered, and aligned with Braata Productions' standards and program goals.

The position begins with a pre-season onboarding and preparation period in the fall. During this time, the Coordinator will become familiar with Braata's education programs, curriculum, systems, partner sites, Teaching Artists, and program calendar. As programming ramps up in the winter, the Coordinator will assume increasing responsibility and continue supporting programs through the completion of the school-year program cycle in early summer.

Key ResponsibilitiesEducation Program Coordination

  • Coordinate the day-to-day implementation of education programs, including schedules, staffing, site logistics, materials, documentation, and communication with partner sites.
  • Recruit, onboard, schedule, and support Teaching Artists in collaboration with the Executive Director.
  • Maintain an accurate roster of Teaching Artist availability, disciplines, and assignments.
  • Serve as a primary resource for Teaching Artists regarding program expectations, organizational procedures, schedules, site requirements, and program-related challenges.
  • Conduct or coordinate site visits and program observations to support Teaching Artists and monitor program quality.
  • Coordinate Teaching Artist planning needs, program materials, culminating presentations, and other program logistics.
  • Address scheduling conflicts, cancellations, and program challenges promptly, escalating unresolved issues to the Executive Director as appropriate.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is highly organized, responsive, and comfortable coordinating multiple moving pieces in a dynamic arts and education environment. They should enjoy working collaboratively with Teaching Artists, schools and community partners, organizational leadership, and other stakeholders while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Experience in arts education, education program administration, nonprofit arts organizations, school partnerships, or program coordination is highly relevant to this position.

Why Join Braata Productions?
