Position Overview
We’re looking for a motivated, results-driven, and relationship-focused Education Recruiter to join our growing Recruitment team at Pioneer Healthcare Services. In this role, you’ll connect talented education professionals with rewarding school-based opportunities across the country while helping meet the staffing needs of our school district partners.
You’ll take ownership of the recruiting process from initial engagement through placement, building strong candidate relationships and serving as a trusted resource throughout their job search. Working closely with our Account Management Team, you’ll help identify qualified candidates, align them with the right opportunities, and create a positive experience throughout the hiring process.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment, enjoys building relationships, and knows how to turn candidate conversations into successful placements. You’ll have the opportunity to grow your pipeline, develop long-term relationships with education professionals, and directly contribute to the success of Pioneer’s education division.
Key Responsibilities
Candidate Sourcing & Engagement
- Source, identify, and engage qualified education professionals for school-based opportunities nationwide, including special education teachers, school psychologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and related professionals.
- Respond to new candidate applications and inquiries promptly and maintain consistent follow-up throughout the recruiting process.
- Proactively engage active and passive candidates through phone calls, text messages, email, job boards, social media, referrals, and other sourcing channels.
- Re-engage candidates within the existing database to identify new availability, interests, and placement opportunities.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified education professionals across assigned specialties and markets.
- Develop long-term candidate relationships that support repeat placements, extensions, and referrals.
Candidate Screening & Qualification
- Conduct phone and virtual interviews to understand candidates’ experience, career goals, availability, location preferences, credentials, and qualifications.
- Evaluate candidates against position requirements, district needs, state licensure or certification requirements, and assignment specifications.
- Educate candidates on available opportunities, including school setting, caseload, schedule, location, compensation, and position requirements.
- Guide candidates through the recruitment and submission process while providing clear, consistent communication at each stage.
- Maintain accurate candidate information, credentials, availability, preferences, and documentation within recruiting systems.
- Ensure candidates are appropriately qualified and prepared before submitting them for consideration.
Candidate Submission & Placement
- Present qualified candidate profiles and submissions to Account Managers for client consideration.
- Partner closely with Account Managers to understand open positions, district requirements, hiring priorities, and candidate profiles needed for successful placements.
- Communicate candidate availability, preferences, feedback, and potential barriers to internal teams.
- Coordinate with Account Management, Compliance, and other internal teams to move candidates efficiently from submission through placement.
- Maintain consistent candidate follow-up throughout interviews, offers, onboarding, and assignment preparation.
- Support candidates throughout the placement process to create a positive experience from initial contact through the start of their assignment.
Relationship Management & Pipeline Development
- Build strong, professional relationships with education professionals throughout their Pioneer journey.
- Maintain regular communication with current and previously placed candidates to identify extensions, future opportunities, and referrals.
- Leverage candidate relationships and referrals to continuously expand Pioneer’s education talent network.
- Maintain accurate and organized candidate records, notes, and recruiting activity within the company’s ATS and recruiting systems.
- Stay informed on education staffing trends, school-based specialties, state credentialing requirements, candidate expectations, and market conditions.
Performance & Team Collaboration
- Consistently work toward individual recruiting goals and performance metrics, including candidate activity, submissions, placements, and other established KPIs.
- Effectively manage daily recruiting activity, including calls, texts, emails, interviews, submissions, and follow-ups.
- Prioritize high-value recruiting activities while independently managing a large and active candidate pipeline.
- Use previous recruiting experience to identify pipeline gaps, adjust outreach strategies, and maintain momentum toward placement goals.
- Collaborate with Recruitment, Account Management, Compliance, and other internal teams to provide a seamless candidate and client experience.
- Participate in team meetings, coaching, training, and professional development while sharing relevant market and candidate insights with the team.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of recruiting experience, preferably within education staffing, school-based staffing, healthcare staffing, or a related agency staffing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
- Previous experience recruiting school-based or education professionals strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of school-based roles, including special education, school psychology, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and related disciplines preferred.
- Familiarity with state licensure, certification, credentialing, or school-based employment requirements is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience managing candidates through the full recruiting lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, qualification, submission, interview, offer, and placement.
- Proven ability to source, attract, engage, and convert both active and passive candidates.
- Experience managing an active candidate pipeline and working toward recruiting activity, submission, and placement goals.
- Strong phone presence with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and negotiation skills with the ability to build candidate trust and maintain long-term relationships.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple candidates, openings, and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and remain accountable in a remote environment.
- Results-oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, performance-driven staffing environment.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, particularly when partnering with Account Management and Compliance teams.
