Educational Technician

Salary Range: $18.88-$27.25 Qualifications

Reports to: Assigned regular education teacher(s), special education case manager and

building administrator

Job Goal: To assist in the provision of an appropriate and quality education for all students

Essential Functions

• Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the classroom teacher or

appropriate content specialist, or assist in drill or practice activities

• Perform non-instructional, non-evaluative functions
• Assist in the preparation of instructional materials
• Provide classroom management functions
• Introduce new learning preplanned in consultation with the classroom teacher or

appropriate content specialist

• Supervise small groups of students in community-based programs
• Develop and maintain trust and rapport with students
• Provide direct instructional support to students in the regular and special education

setting

• Maintain professional boundaries with highly vulnerable students, both in school

and in the community

• Accept direction of lead teacher and work collaboratively with team members
• Demonstrate positive communication with students, staff and parents
• Respectfully advocate for disabled children in the public-school setting
• Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information

regarding students and their families

• Maintain a high level of professionalism in following and supporting school district

policies, school rules and team standards in all areas

• Inform classroom teacher of any problems or special information about individual

students

• Participate in in-service training programs, as assigned
• Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned by classroom teacher and

building administrator
